Discovery Film Blurb

Discovery Film Synopsis
A twelve minute animated short that attempts to describe the sense of disorientation and confusion in the face of an apparently meaningless or absurd world. The imagery deals with the struggle to give life meaning and living that life passionately and sincerely. The narrative portrays the reality and seriousness of human affairs described in a playful way. The work focuses on the tension between two opposing forces like, growth and decay, and finding the balancing point between the two.The story is of an organ grinder who works in a factory. The organ grinder is trying to fit into society on his own terms. He is sick of the grind and wants to be free from wearing the mask that comes with the job. The realization of the hopelessness of his situation threatens his sanity and distorts his perception of reality.Within our imagery, we strive to balance awkwardness and grace. Our work is meant to be interpreted as an experience in a surreal environment. The visuals and sounds are connected on a subconscious level. The viewer is invited to make sense of the narrative components as one would make sense of images and sounds in a dream.
